Science in Hub 4 at Stonefields
Check out our presentation at school assembly. We decided to share all the amazing learning we have been doing in Science this term.
This term, we are all scientists at Hub 4. We are learning about solids, liquids, and gas. We are also learning about hot and cold. - Ruby
We learnt how to sign hot and cold. We also learnt the Maori words for hot (wera) and cold (makariri). - Cynthia and Blake
We have been doing lots of experiments, like making Rainbow Wizards Brew. Look at it bubble and spill out of the jar. - Rapture
We felt things that are hot and cold. We found out what would happen to an ice cube if we put it under the sun (it melted!). We also melted crayons using a hair dryer to make our hot and cold art. - Joseph.
We also made our own ice cream. It tastes just like the one we buy at the shops. - Kade

Stonefields - Hub 4 Opening, June 16, 2014
Below is an account of the day by Room 11, the Sylvia Park Satellite Class.
Today we went to Stonefields School to perform on behalf of Sommerville Special School at the Hub 4 official opening. Hub 4 is the new Sommerville Satellite class at Stonefields.
It was a lovely day and we really enjoyed sharing our dance with the students and parents.
(Just waiting on video footage to share but below you can find some images from the day.
The children viewed our photos upon returning to school and helped me to write the sentences you see on each image this afternoon.)
