Disability Connect is delighted to announce the September 2016 Support Group Meeting.  To view the flier click here.

This month's topic is "Managing Tantrums / Intense Emotions - for ourselves as parents and in our children".  Our speaker is Marion Doherty, Clinical Pscyhologist, Co-ordinator of Kari Centre, Infant Mental Health Services and ECLIPS.

Parents bringing up children/young people with Autism and or any disability are often under a lot of stress and find it hard to manage behavioural issues and tantrums.

This month we have invited Marion to speak about understanding and de-escalating tantrums, including strategies to help parents cope with when faced with such stressful situations.  Marion takes a hands-on approach to delivering her presentations and parents will really enjoy her session full of sensible and practical ideas that have been proven to work.

For catering purposes it is important to register for this meeting. You can register by emailing Disability Connect admin@disabilityconnect.org.nz or asoka@disabilityconnect.org.nz.  You can also phone 09 636 0351 or text Asoka 027 457 8571 to book over the phone.
