Jono the special Singer By Mina

On Thursday last week.

There was a concert in the gym. There was an amazing singer who  named Jono came to perform. He was our special guest to the concert. He can play the key board while singing. He is such an amazing singer. He cannot see us. That is the special thing about him. When he was singing I felt like crying. And I really did. Please listen to this song. It will make you cry.

Easter Fun bu No.26

Today we went on an Easter Egg Hunt around the property at #26. We had to find the clues and read them.
When we found the eggs we got to eat them.
Our clues looked like this:

we practiced our reading and thinking and even remembered some of the things we are learning for our SPEC recycling unit.

Learning about cultures at Owairoa

We dressed up in lavalavas and flowers and played kilikiti as part of our "Learning about cultures" Social Science topic. We had to hit the ball, then run to the wickets and back. When we were not using the bat we ran to get the ball or cheered for our team mates loudly

Koru by Anchorage Park 1

We have studied Maori culture for the past 2 weeks. We have made Koru pictures with printing, shells, playdoh and pipe cleaners.  We have also done flax weaving, Maori stick games and explored poi, we found out about traditional clothes too. It has been so much fun!

We even made moko and ta moko masks and pictures of ourselves. India said she was putting koru shapes on hers.  Good remembering India!

Next week we learn about Scottish culture, that's where Rose Anne is from.
