Spotty Day by Howick Intermediate

Today Friday 28th March here at Howick Intermediate we participated in the ‘Go Spotty’ Mufti Day to raise awareness of this terrible disease that is affecting over 4000 kiwis every year.
The idea is to get everyone wearing something spotty or dotty to get people thinking about melanoma and checking their skin for ‘spots’ or signs that could lead to melanoma later on in life.
In our class Leya was the Spotiest!!!
We had planned games that we orgnised for ourselves.
It was a fun day for a worthy cause.

Very Fast by Natasha Edgewater 3

Yesterday we went to Mt Smart stadium for athletics. I was so happy that I came 1st in the 200m race. I was very fast and I got a 1st place ribbon.  When I did the Javelin, I threw it the furthest on my 3rd throw. When I did the long jump I jumped as far as I could. I did very well in all my events. I showed my mum my ribbons and she was very proud of me.

Creating a dance with our wonderful specialist

Sam is the new dance specialist working with us.
She is helping Room 11 at Sylvia Park School to make up a mime dance inspired by Charlie Chaplin.

Working with Sam is lots of fun.  Thank you for sharing her with us Allie :-)
